Studied history at the Univeristy of Copenhagen (1971-1974); MA 1979, PhD 1988 and post-doctoral degree (habilitacja) 2003, University of Warsaw. University of Warsaw professor since 2007. Research interests: history of Scandinavia in the 17th-20th centuries, social history of the 19th and 20th centuries, history of film, and film as a tool for historians and teachers of history. Since 2006 regular collaborator of the Department of Scandinavian Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
