International cooperation

The Institute of History’s international cooperation is carried out under bilateral agreements between the University of Warsaw and universities in other countries; through participation in international programmes like ERASMUS+ and CEEPUS, and in international research and education projects. The Institute has a strategic partnership with École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris. Professional and personal contacts between members of staff of both these institutions – which began as early as the 1960s – concern primarily historians of the Middle Ages, Antiquity and the 20th century.
The Institute’s other strategic partners include the Kiev-Mohyla Academy, Centre d'Études Supérieures de Civilisation médiévale (CESCM) in Poitiers, Université Lumière - Lyon 2, University of Bologna, University of Konstanz, Lomonosov Moscow State University and the State Pedagogical University of Novosibirsk.
Under the ERASMUS+ programme, the Institute has been collaborating with a dozen or so universities in France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Holland, SpainDenmark, Czech Republic, Slovenia, PortugalRomania, Lithuania, LatviaHungary and Turkey.
