B. 1949; MA 1972, University of Warsaw; PhD 1977, post-doctoral degree (habilitacja) 1988 (also UW). Has worked at the Institute of History, University of Warsaw since 1972 as intern, assistant lecturer, senior assistant lecturer, assistant professor, senior lecturer; associate professor since 1992. Member of the editorial board of Dzieje Najnowsze, 1988-1991.
