B. 1964; MA 1989 University of Warsaw; PhD. 1997, post-doctoral degree (habilitacja) 2006 (also UW). Has worked at the Institute of History since 1989, first as assistant lecturer, assistant professor, UW professor (since 2011). Editioral board member of the:
- Przegląd Historyczny (2003-2012)
- Miesięcznik Historyczny Mówią Wieki (1999-2012)
Member of the Committee on Historical Sciences, Polish Academy of Science (since 2013).
Academic interests: economic history, historical anthropometrics, historical demography, history of technology.
