Born on 30 September 1966 in Warsaw. MA 1990, Institute of History, University of Warsaw. PhD 1997, post-doctoral degree (habilitacja) 2010 (both Faculty of History, University of Warsaw).
1990-1991: expert on English-language countries at the “Polish Community” Association. Has worked at the Institute of History, University of Warsaw, since 1991, first as assistant lecturer, and since 1998 as assistant professor. In 1991-2009 collaborated with the American Studies Centre, University of Warsaw.
1994: scholarship, Kennedy Institute, Freie Universität in Berlin.
1995: scholarship under the Oxford Hospitality Scheme, Nuffield College.
1995-1996: Fulbright scholarship, Indiana University in Bloomington.
Since 1996 regular study visits to the Public Record Office (currently National Archives) in London.
1999: participant in a conference held in Bloemfontein (RSA) on the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the Boer War.
2001-2002: scholar exchange visit to the University of Notre Dame.
2006: archive research at the Cape Town Archives Repository.
